Bali is very famous for its temples and because of the Hindu Culture in Bali some of the most Iconic and recognizable Temples have been constructed by the Kings . One such temple Tanh Lot temple i went out to visit . why this temple because of its location architecture and beauty .The name "Tanah Lot" is derived from the Balinese language, with "tanah" meaning "land" and "lot" meaning "sea". The name is fitting for the temple, as it is situated on a large offshore rock formation that can only be accessed during low tide.
Remember to visit it during the low tide but still being a tourist you cant enter the temple that is the main Gods statue however you can see the complete complex which itself is very beautiful . It is spread over a large area .According to local legend, the temple was named after a Javanese priest named Danghyang Nirartha, who was said to have meditated at the site. The story goes that Nirartha encountered the rock formation and was impressed by its beauty and spiritual energy. He then instructed his followers to build a temple on the rock to worship the sea god, Baruna.
This majestic temple is even looks more majestic when there is high tide because the is small rock island gets surrounded by the high sea waves which come crashing into it and the whole expereince is wonderful to watch .This creates a beautiful and dramatic setting, as the temple appears to be floating on the water during high tide.
